Diagram of Proper Stance vs Puck Position

The following diagrams shows hockey goalies where to stand and what stance to use. The main reason I put this diagram together is two fold. 1) I see goalies resting on their knees or in reverse VH when the puck is in the corner. 2) Goalies may have been told but the problem is that they are visual learners.

Goalies who are peewee age or younger should remain on their feet as much as possible. For older goalies there is no correct answer. Use practice time to try out different approaches to see what suits your game best.

We must always be aware. Is the puck carrier a shooting threat or looking to pass? We must be aggressive against shooter move to top or outside the crease. When player is looking to pass know his options and slightly decrease depth.
